Next up is a can’t miss event, a St. Louis tradition: the running of the Volvo 240s at the tail end of the Cinco de Mayo Parade (aka The People’s Joy Parade) down Cherokee Street. Only 240 models are invited, so don’t try to squeeze your XC90 in! Regardless, it’s a great spectator event, seeing those old boxes decorated with a certain irreverence for style or fashion.
Cinco de Mayo is actually on a Saturday this year, so expect an extra level of craziness. If you have a 240, you’re welcome to participate!
We’ll start congregating around 12 noon at Michigan St. and Cherokee St. Find a parking spot and walk on over. The parade steps off promptly at 1:11pm.
