7th Annual Mid-Missouri Meet-Up
The Heart of America Volvo Club (Kansas City) and the Gateway VCOA Chapter (St. Louis) will hold the 7th annual Mid-Missouri Meet-Up (M3U) on Saturday, November 2nd. Members from both sides of the state will converge upon Lake Ozark, Missouri for an afternoon of social activities, including lots of Volvo talk.
The first meeting spot will be for lunch at 11:30am at Tucker’s Shuckers Oysters and Tap in Lake Ozark. This establishment has a wide variety of food and drink, and should be the perfect venue to renew old acquaintances and make new ones.
After lunch, the group will head to the Willmore Lodge Museum, just a few minutes away. This free museum on the shore of the Lake of the Ozarks describes the history of the lake and the building of Bagnell Dam. Once complete, the dam flooded the valleys of the region to create the lake and serve as power generation, flood control and, of course, a vast recreational area.
A scenic overlook is about a mile away from Willmore Lodge, providing a great view of the dam, which we can motor to for a brief stop.
The groups will then proceed about 9 miles to Osage Beach for a 3pm tasting and 45-minute tour of the Ozark Brewery and Distillery. The optional tour has a $5 admission fee. If you wish to take the tour, please visit their web site to reserve and pay.
RSVPs are required for this event so that we can alert the restaurant and distillery. Please respond below by October 19 if you plan to attend.
Make plans to attend this exciting event. With some luck, the Fall colors may be at their peak and will add to the enjoyable day. Club caravans to the lunch spot will convene at the following locations and times:
Gateway Chapter: Meet at 8:30am in the Schnuck’s parking lot, I-44 and MO-109. Depart for Lake Ozark at 8:45am sharp.
Heart of America Chapter: Meeting spot TBD
